Since I bought my first flash (Canon 430 Ex II) I can't get enough of it! The strobist technique has made its way into almost all of my different shooting styles. I mainly do portraiture now but when I was starting out with photography I did a lot of sports and landscape work. Now I still enjoy those styles I just have a little different approach now. I've boarded and skied at Mt Spokane Ski and Snowboard park for years now and I don't think I have seen another photographer taking the strobist approach to their photography, especially during the day. Since a single Canon 430/580 might not be powerful enough to shoot in the middle of the day and really make that rider "pop" out like I want them to I decided to bring up one of my studio strobes. I used an Alien Bee B800 (Paul C Buff) and their Vagabond mini to power it. Transporting all the gear around that day was not as bad as I thought it would be and after seeing the photos when I got home all the work was worth it! I only had a little bit of time to shoot in the park but you can expect to see many more images like this from me in the near future. Please leave a comment down below if you would like to see some behind the scenes pictures and a few more details on the setup on these shots and maybe a look into my post processing.
Spokane Washington Photographer || Family Photos On A Cold Wintery Day
It has been SO COLD IN SPOKANE LATELY! Nonetheless the Philips Family contacted me needing some family photos done so I jumped on the opportunity. We did these at Franklin Park in Spokane, Washington. This family was an absolute blast to work with. The kids were easy to direct and everyone brought a great attitude and wonderful smiles. The young ones had a great time playing on the play features there. Take a look at some of the highlights from the day!

Head Shots And High Fashion || Evan Ola
I met Evan through a Spokane Washington models page, he contacted me needing some head shots for a few different agencies in LA that are looking at him. I told him to bring along various wardrobe pieces and we would see if we would have time to do some high fashion work. Take a look at the images and let me know what you think! Beautiful Wedding At The Davenport Hotel || Pat And Rachael Thoen
The Davenport Hotel is such a wonderful place for a couple to get married at! I couldn't have been happier when I found out that Pat and Rachael decided to have their wedding there. It gave me such a cool opportunity to capture their pictures in such a unique and beautiful environment. I've known them for years and it was truly an honor to be the person that got to capture the best day of their lives! Enjoy a few highlight photos from the wedding day. Insane Conditions At Mt Spokane Ski And Snowboard Park || Spokane Washington Photographer
Today was insane to say the least. It didn't stop snowing all day and according to the forecast I don't see it letting up anytime soon. I was at the mountain today with my friend Zach Taylor who happens to be an incredible rapper from Spokane, Washington. He is also pretty great at skiing! Check out this photo of him on Chair 1 at Mt Spokane. http://therealzeal.bandcamp.com/
